Evan is as good of a human being as he is a chef and that is saying truly something. We couldn’t be more honored to have Michelin Star winning chef, Evan Leroy, as a part of the Poncho family.

Seeing what they have built with LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue over the last few years, starting in a food truck to the beautiful location now, is an inspiring story that we are lucky to witness. Cheers to the success and to many more good times in our future!

A Few Questions With Evan

Q: When you’re not cooking, what are you doing?

A: I love the outdoors and sports so that could be anything from hiking, hunting, fishing, and going to games.


Q: What is your favorite memory in the outdoors?

A: Fresh shucked oysters right out of the water with Oyster Bros in Palacios, TX.


Q: What is a hot take/controversial opinion of yours?

A: No beans in chili, ever!


Q: What would be your death row meal?

A: A big plate of Tex-mex food with enchiladas, queso, and a frozen marg.


Q: What is your top Bucket list Item?

A: Hunting and fishing in Alaska.


Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Do what makes you happy - Gary LeRoy, my dad.


Q: What does "Made for it" mean to you?

A: Made for it means being at home and comfortable no matter where you are.
